As an equine photographer, I have been fortunate enough to witness countless magical moments between children and their equine best friends. But one of the hardest parts of growing up as a young equestrian is the fact that you'll eventually outgrow your dear equine friend. It means having to say a bittersweet goodbye and welcoming new friendships into your life, friendships that promise exciting adventures and countless memories yet to be shared. Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Claudia and being introduced to her sweet Connemara pony, Monkey and here's a little sneak peak to what we go up to on her equine portrait session in Dorset.
Setting the Stage for a Dreamy Equine Photoshoot for Children:
Picture yourself in a storybook setting—a stunning Connemara pony surrounded by the picturesque backdrop of Dorset's rolling hills and the pops of autumnal colours from the vibrant trees. We picked Claudia's yard near Wimborne for the setting of the photoshoot where Claudie's new pony was starting to feel at home. We arrived early morning where the sun was just beginning to come out behind the beautiful leafy trees.
The Girl and Her Pony: A new and exciting friendship:
Let me introduce you to our stars, 15 year old Claudie and her adorable young Connemara pony, Monkey. Claudie is an experienced and a talented young rider, having had great success in the past racing in the Shetland Pony Grand National. She now enjoys show jumping as well as competing in the showing arena (having recently competed at HOYS). Monkey and
Claudia have only know each other for a short amount of time, but I think you'll agree they are fast forming a special bond and Monkey is very much part of the family already. I love the these relaxed equine photoshoots for young equestrians give them a chance to take time out of their busy competing schedules and school life and can enjoy spending time with their ponies and to celebrate just how far they've come.
Claudia shows lots of behind the scenes of her life with her wonderful ponies so if you're interested in following along with Claudia's journey, find her on Instagram @claudiagrovesequestrienne
